Ive got 8v rear brakes for my mk2 the problem is ive got drums on the rear...
ive been told i need the rear beam off a GTI.. is this so as ive got the disks, pads, calipers and carriers for front and back
any help would be appricited!

i think you could swap the whole back axle, thus supplying you with all parts, you will need a new hand brake cable for disc axle tho.
think thats it tho

well ive alreadt got the brakes its just do i need the rear axle to fit them?

As long as you have the stub axles the discs will go straight on a drum beam. The only difference between the beams is GTi beams have a built in anti-roll bar so you'll need one up front as well if you haven't one already or it'll handle er... interestingly. Any reason for changing to discs? You won't stop any quicker and if you haven't got a brake compensator on the back they'll lock up for fun.

forge the disks ive got replacment disks and pads

the reason for askin is because these have just come off my mates 1.3 and i want to know if they will fit direct onto mine!
