I have a Golf MKIII (03) GT TDI with all standard audio but one my front door speakers is broke. Can any of you guys tell me the spec of them (size / rms etc) please and any helpful info on replacing them.
If I replace the speaker can I leave the tweater bu the mirrot in place or does this need doing also being part of a component set?
Cheers.

You have a mk4. I have a mk3.
About 16-17cms. 4 ohms. Why don't you take a look at the passenger side one?
Ebay is useful too.

The standard MK3 door speakers are 6.5inch / 17cm
You only did need to pop the speaker grille off to replace them although you will need to crimp new terminals onto the wires.
decent upgrade ones on ebay start at £25
