how do you get by with your cars so LOW!!!
my cars lowered 40mm and my bumper rubs everything, i want to lower to 80mm but i get p!ssed off enuf as it is!! my current drop is springs only so if i lower it again ide be getting a full fit, am i going to suffer no matter what?
-
it's going to be very stiff, and feel like you are sitting on concrete, even on small bumps, but that is paid for in the handling and the look. Nothing better than being able to chuck it into corners and come out the otherside (sometimes a bit sideways) and giggling like a deranged baboon.
-
You can see how mine feels in a couple of weeks if you like, unless I get bedridden or die or something I AM going to fit my coilies, as i have some free time at last!!
-
ah cool, your fitting coilovers? what have you got on there at the moment as your cars looooow as it is
-
If it ain't rubbing you ain't dubbing.

put the rears on super hard and u can get some wicked oversteer lol!
-
Get ride height adjustable coilovers then you can get the stance and clearance you want.
-
what sort of price we talking here? thats if i have any money left after paying my speeding fine......
ide probably want a sort of avarage quality as its not as if i thrash my car round every corner, its mostly for the look
-
about 500 sheets for a budget set of coilovers i reckon but the skys the limit really
-
but 90 quid for lowering springs if u want just looks. get a good brand tho eibach etc or the ride can be mega harsh
-
yeah but it aint too smart to sit my standard stuts with 80mm lowering springs so im told......
maybe i can find a second hand kit
-
mines down -85mm and the front catches a lot, exhaust in the centre if you go over high speed bumps, but doesnt really matter how many passengers cos its rock hard, think i need to adjust it though cos its a bit skippy round corners, gotta admit the best thing about the golf is the handling  only thing being that low is the extra stress on wheel bearings etc
defo wouldnt use standard struts on 80mm springs you'll need to get a full kit

arent the FK coilovers at 300 pound adjustable..i'm sure they are..
-
thats very cheap for coilovers aint it
-
£370 last time i checked, and they are height adjustable, not damper.

bah thats no good then, id rather keep mine :P
-
so if i wanted to lower my car say 40mm or 60mm what's the best way of going about this. Budget will be around 300 pound.

blistein shocks, eibach springs.
-
Yeh Harry, fitting my coilovers, some lovely FK Konigs, cant wait! Thats if I have any time to spare from working in the parents garden!!
Shocks and springs on there atm, think its got boge turbo shocks on, its pretty decent really, but the springs aren't as good as the ones I had on my last car, doesnt go round corners quite so well!! Looks quite good tho, reckon its around a 50mm drop, maybe a bit more atm.
