hi i'm thinkin of doing a transplant to my mk1 1600 gti. it currently has a hi lift cam and tsr manifold (i think) all workin shy of 130bhp. The problem is the engine is fine and pulls o.k it's just you have to keep it on the boil. As I haven't had this one for a while i haven't really done much to it. Ne way I've never done a swop before and I want to do one a 2L 8v I think would be good, but as I have another project which is gonna eat up the £Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£ i'd like to do this on the cheap. So what 8v will fit? are there problems with clearance of tall blocks? is there any welding of new mounts needed as i'm just learning to weld, but my mechanical and elec knowlege is fairly good i just wondered if i'd have to make a new loom up any info would be good.
thanks

I dont know if you are interested but I have a 1.8 16v engine, gearbox and a full Ashley exhaust system including Ashley manifold to do a complete conversion. Everything you need is there. The wiring isn't too bad but you can by a new loom from TSR for £117. I want £500 for the lot. It is on evilbay but can withdraw at anytime.

how much do you want for that manifold?

I would like to sell the exhaust and manifold together - £250 for the lot bearing in mind the manifold cost £200 new
