Greetings Golfers!
I'm "Ali" (Alistair), a 23 yo Golf owner from West Brom. I didn't expect to have my Golf for very long before getting something a bit newer and faster, but having driven a few other cars I've seen the GTi light, and I want to return it to it's former glory, with a few tasteful additions, such as some alloys. I have great admiration for any fine engineering, not just cars. It was me mum's, so I know it wasn't thrashed, and always well serviced. Specs in me Sig.
Anyway, this looks like a great place to be, so I'm off to plead for help in the Mk2 forum...

Well, I attempted to get some pics up  but for some reason my Nokia is about the only variant of many similar models and numbers not to accept the cable I have. It fits, recognises it, and a few seconds later throws a hissy fit. Windows still sees a mobile device though, so I smell a moneymaking scheme. That said, it's not half as shameless as The Inky Highwaymen... Messrs Hewlett and Packard  Nevermind, me mate will be over with his Cannon to take some proper pics next week.
As for a Dub Collection, I'll see if I can get my current one working (and staying working) first. Anyone got a gearbox hanging around?
Great to be part of the site, and I promise a GolfGTi.co.uk window sticker as soon as the old girl looks respectable enough to take one!
Ali
p.s. Dinx: I too have been having camper thoughts for a while... So much scope for personalisation, I dont think I'll be able to resist once I've got the time to devote to it. It's one of those machines that has stuck in my mind since playschool!

well im such a noob to them..but bloke keeps goin on about one..so well see wot happens!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
I've gotta scurry back to Surrey for a few days, and I'll be without the net at me Gran's place. :lipsrsealed: When I get back I'll check out some VW parts places like Not Escorts, which was recommended to me in the Mk2 forum. I've only got until the end of the month until the tax runs out and it gets towed away by the clamping "firm" that covers the block. For the time being I'm (quite literally) farting around in an old white Fiesta 1.8... Diesel  Oh the shame! Not to mention the abuse I get on the motorways. The fuel economy is commendable, but that's little consolation.
