I have a 2002 GT TDi and as my youngest is only 7, I am not very keen on her travelling in the front with the passenger air bag activated - they can do more harm than good to kids of this age. The manual shows a key switch to de-activate it in the glove box but its not there. Was this key switch an option or am I looking in the wrong place?

My 99 gti mk4 doesnt have the key but my dads 54 Leon cupra does so im not sure what you can do other than put the seat right back.

If you have access to vagcom it can be done i believe , if not then its a dealer job

i wanted to turn the side air bags off in the seats, need to be fittin a rear childs seat soon, vw manual says its a visit to the dealers, i ent had a chance to try vagcom yet

mmm..... just pull the connecter plugs under the seat, will bring the light on on the dash but it will solve your probs :undecided:

I'm pretty certain you can do it with VAGCOM but you have to check the part number of your controller as there is an issue with certain controllers.

i have the controller that is supposed to have problems i ignored all the warnings and it still works fine
