hi i have a mk2 drivere aswell jus wondering tho i went to the garage the other day and some guy said my engine was from a mk1 because my carb wab wobly (as mk1 are mounted on rubber bushes) and because it had a spring compressed manifold.. and then to top it off i look at your engine bay and the k+n bolt on filter is the oposite to mine yours is vertical mine is horizontal help... it looks the same jus the k an n ... have you bolted it ion dfferent and how can i find out?
-
i am not an expert, but all 1600 drivers had the ruber gasket/plate to mount the carb on.
also, the pic shows a weber carb i think, that is why the k&n is sat differently.
like i say, i'm no expert though

by looking and that and i'm definitely not an expert.
The k and n could/should go horizontal as thenthe oil reather hose would be an easier fit.

ive got a 1600 driver mate, my K&N is mounted the other way too from what it is in that picture, so you got nothink to worry about there, i will take a pic tomos and post it for you so you can compare.

yeah thats a weber, can tell from that spring at the back, on a pierburg the filter would point to the drivers wing
