Title: Lowered or Standard?
Post by: mk2_singh on 03 April 2006, 16:04

me and my mates cannot decide whether this is lowered already or whether this is the stock ride height?

the front suspension dnt have the usual VW type thing on the shock just got a big bolt. and the top hat looks brand new. possibly changed with the suspension. the springs themselves are black so dnt give much away.

its ride is pretty firm but so was my other golfs which wasnt lowered.

any ideas guys?

I wouldn't say it looks lowered to be honest.

Doesnt look lowered at all.  Mine looks lower than that and it standard... although thats got me thinking.  I don't think I've ever actually checked so only have the previous owners word for it.

I've got 8V GTi springs on my Driver and it looks a little lower than that so I'd guess they're non-GTi VW springs. What does it measure from the centre of the wheel to the top of the wheel arch? non-GTi ride height is about 360mm.

I personally would reckon that you are running a standard height on that one....Mine has a 40mm drop and 15" wheels so it is a fairly good comparison.
