Title: Dem Badges
Post by: BOB1245 on 03 April 2006, 14:12
Whats the best way of removing badges from GTI's, I have heard a variety of methods from using hairdryers to getting a main dealer to do it... is their a quick and easy way of getting 2.0 off and GTI on?

is this a mk4? if so they are stuck on so a hair drier will soften the adhesive but they can be a b!tch to get off. whatever sticky thats left can be rubbed off with a bit of time and petrol or something that'll disolve the glue.

Just pour boiling water out of your kettle on to the badge and this will soften the glue, then wiggle it back and fore and hey presto , then stick some white spirit on it to  remove the glue

On mine i found it quite good using a hot air gun (on low) and using some tooth floss. Try to get it as close to the body work as you can as the foamy adhesive is difficult to remove even with spirits.
