Title: side airbag igniter driver side

anyone know where the side airbag igniter is on the driver side ive looked in the haynes manual and it doesnt say its come up as a fault and i need to get it sorted for my mot

Do you mean airbag ignitor or side airbag sensor?

The ignitor is part of side airbag module in the seat, side sensor is in the floor (somewhere). I assume your airbag light is coming on the dash? - this shouldn't be an MOT fail.

BTW, unless it is a loose wire, these aren't servicable parts, so brace yourself for a new side bag + labour.. OUch

sorted it now thanks anyway just phoned my local dealer and they were very helpful it was the side airbag igniter the one in the seat i tried to turn this off with vag com and it kept coming back on so i wiggled the wire all around the seat and its stayed off this time thank god vw quoted £180 for the airbag then it would somehow need fitting i dread to think how much that would cost
