city seem about right but m/way seems a bit low. my 8v does about 40mpg cruising at 70-80.

I'm guessing thats where the 16v is getting a bit "cammy", so the HP is starting to build rapidly from that point??  My 8v's used to do about 40 at motorway speeds too.

I get 24 mpg on the journey to work, 5 miles of stop start stuff. Country/motorway journeys are around 35+ though...

Mine does about 30 around town and 34 on a spirited country road session using almost all of the rev range. I havent done many motorway miles yet

Never reset my figures and have had the car over 3 years now. Current reading is 31.7 mpg

Thats a mixture of driving and I always thrash it when I can!

something very wrong...

Just done a trip to Northampton and back (166 miles). Driving like a wet sissy I was up to 43 mpg... then the roadworks finished. Finished the trip at 36.4...

Bit of 8v input...... over a distance of 1485 miles, it's averaging 31.8mpg.

And with refence to driving style, if I'm not braking the accelerator is flat to the floor.

B4.

I've got a 16v.

My average over a lot of miles is 31ish aswell.

Around town 24, Best ever of 43 was achieved today, lots of m/way sticking to speed limits.

Did 320 miles yesterday, Reading - Leicester - Huntingdon - Reading average 36.

Hope this helps

It's a pain, but you can work it out by:
1)Fill tank to brim
2)Reset trip meter.
3)Drive around for a while.
4)Fill tank up again, note how many litres you put in.
5)Note how many miles you did (trip meter)
6)Divide Litres used by 4.546.  This gives Gallons used.
7)Divide miles by Gallons.  Should give you miles per gallon...

e.g. Used 27.3 litres, and covered 200miles.
27.3 / 4.546 = 6.0053 Gallons
200 / 6.0053 = 33.3Mpg.

More time consuming than just reading off the display, but this will always be accurate (whereas trip computer may suffer if the various sensors are off at all)  The more miles you do between the fillings, the more accurate it'll be.
