OK, quick poll question:
I currently have a polished inlet manifold and rocker cover:

I also have this matt black set:

Which do you think I should have on the car?

I think a mixture of the two as well. Although I'm not a big fan of chrom under the hood.

I was thinkin 'polished obviously, is he mad?!? :laugh:' but then scrolled down and everyone is right so far! Black all the way, different and still eyecatching somehow!! :smiley: Looks good!

Looks like you have a lovely polished manifold there mate! What have you used to bring it up? I did it once but would love to know if there was a quicker/better way if I ever do it again! :smiley:
Would be good to see the final install on your car too!

I'd love to know of a quick way but i don't think it exists, it was a lot of work, I used wet & dry and wire wool to flatten it, then i buffed it up with polishing soaps & a mop :wink:

I was so impressed with the soaps that I ordered some of this stuff to flatten the rest of the bits to be polished, it only turned up yesterday so i haven't tried it yet :smiley:

black it hides the hideous amounts of wires golf engine bays seem to have :laugh:

Thanks Ross......got the black manifold set over a year ago on ebay....have 2 or 3 spares but the rest are polished or chrome now!

how easy is it to swap the manifold? how long does it take what fancy tools are required etc...

A couple of allen keys & a spanner or two, its easy :smiley: remember to get yourself some new gaskets before you start though.
throttle body ones are p/n 037 133 073A :wink:
