one thing i have had to do so far is change the plugs
how the f**k do u get them out, they are that far recessed down into the head!!
-
Have you got the spark plug socket. It has a rubber inner surrond that catches the spark so you can pull it out.
Put a rubber grommet in the socket and the spark should hold into the socket and come out.
-
no, ive no plug spanner as yet
what specifically should i be lookin for?

All you need is rachet, spark plug socket and a extension bar. Just make sure that you thread the new plugs in by hand(with the extension bar), then give a tweak with the rachet. This avoids cross threading them.

If you think the 16v is a pain, then try and change the plugs on a vr6. There is supposed to be a tool that comes with the car to do it, but mines not there. I used a very long thin set of pliers to remove the HT leads instead.

and there's 2 more to do than the 16v eh VR6 ;)

Its where they are mate, pain in the arse.
-
too many cylinders!
and
not enough valves

The 24 valve lump is better , 204 BHP. But the old AAA lump is still sh!t hot.
-
heheheh cant believe you were gonna try n change the plugs with no tools, nutta ;D

Hey Gambit. If all else fails just break loose the plug with a socket and ratchet then push a piece of fuel line down over the insulator of the plug unscrew it and pull it out. I've had this work before in a pinch. Take it easy.

It shouldn't fail as long as you have a spark plug socket with a rubber retainer in it. also it depends on the state of the cam cover gasket around the spark plug holes. A pattern one can get in the way and its a nightmare getting the socket down in there.
Also when putting the new plug in as VR6 said with an extension and socket by hand, reverse turn it first and you will feel it clicking as it spins on the threads. when it clicks turn it clockwise and it should seat and do up without knackering the thread.

That was one of the first tips i learnt.
