				When driving the car steady it seems to have a hissing noise when changing through the gears, especailly between 3 and 4000 revs.. sound a bit like a turbo.... is this normal? the car is Standard....

				Check for air leaks i guess.

				Its the hissing is coming from the air flow section in the bottom left hand corner.... do golf 16v's sound like this at standard.. any more info would be great..

 Its sounds like its coming from the indcution area where all the air filter is located..
 
 Does yours do this??

				nope mine makes no hissing noise
 
 also, u can pull the resonater tube out of the base of the air box, it'll make ur car sound a lot meatier
