Bought a mk2 gti 8v, dont know a great deal about its past but the engine is sweet and in pretty good condition. On the back of the car is a logo that says boardman projects, has anyone ever heard of these?
Cant find anything on them and I am intrigued into what this logo is ;p

If you want to find more ownership history on the car write to the DVLA with cheque for £5.00 and they will send you photocopies of all the previous ownership documents. I did it with my 16v because I had a six owner car with no history, I got everything right back to the supplying dealer. I managed to contact the third owner and found he is a ClubGTI freak and he serviced the car on the dot from 18,000 up to nearly 60,000 mls. You might not be so lucky but at least you'll find out where the car has been, mine has a Reading registration but was actually sold first to a company in Carlisle where it stayed for nearly 3 years!!

Thanks for that Jezza, that seems like 5 pounds really well spent.

Yes it was. :smug: Log on to the DVLA website, you have to wade through quite a bit of stuff but it tells you on there how to go about it and will update you on the cost. Don't expect a quick result though, the stuff's all archived and it took 6 weeks before I received anything. My stuff came with a quite personal apologetic letter, I think they just have the one 'old dear' down in a dark basement somewhere who deals with it all.

This sound right, 'Previous keeper details' from here:

If so did you say you wanted details of all the previous owners?
