Title: where's this isv thingy
Post by: DAZZERB on 26 November 2003, 02:02
i have read on many of the forum pages, about an idle valve, which can be cleaned to stop erratic tick over speeds(which prob does'nt work in all cases), anyway i would like to know where this thingy is because i have erratic tick over on gas, but petrol seems ok so maybe cleaning this valve may help.
please tell me where to locate this thing, by the way i have a mk2 gti 16v if that helps
chers guys/girls..........

yeah get hold of some carb cleaner and spray out all the gunk and carbon deposits, from the pipe end. stick it all back together once dry and hey presto smooth idle and better starting. Well worked for me anyway
