Will mk2 pads fit in mk3 calipers? I've heard that mk3 calipers are a direct replacement but was just wondering if the pads are the same??? Cheers.
-
front or rear, which MK3 & MK2 etc :)
-
Rear, from mk3 gti anniversary I think onto mk2 gti 16v.
-
I think the brakes on the rear of both Mk2 and Mk3 are 226mm. Pads should be a direct fit.
-
92-93 are the same (rear calipers are identical to MK2 ones) but from 93 the pads are different, as are the calipers. The design was changed with an internal spring to prevent them siezing up.

^^ you sure? i used mk2 pads on my mk4 brakes when i put them on the rear?
-
They're defo thicker, but that doesn't mean the shape changed if you get me?

gotcha! got a bit worried then that i'd been drving around for a few years with dodgy rear brakes! not that the rears do much anyway!
