Post by: mr2turbo on 26 March 2006, 19:26
As above really but when you turn the igntion on you can hear the fuel pump gas up it also stays like that when cranking, but theres no fuel getting to engine bay (main feed pipe to fuel filter cracked of to check) so i just wondered if there was a common problem that people might know of ? Its a 83 gti
Thanks peeps.

Check the line arent block from the tank
The sender unit is doing its job
pump is pushing thro fuel...

I you are stuck buy a £2 clear filter and some rubber fuel lines and and connect it just the other side of the sender unit as a test to see if the petrol is moving thro.

As i mentioned elsewhere replace the cheepest things first if you cannot identify the fault, filter, pump, sender unit, ect
