Title: Interior light help needed plz

Hi all.  Got in my car tonight and the interior light wouldnt go off.  Its set to the right setting for when the doors open.  
The only doors what was open was the drivers door, and the back passenger door.  Ive checked al the necessary doors, boot bonnet ect and i cant fix it.  
One thing i couldnt find is a buttons on the doors to see if it was stuck.  
Ive set the light to 'off' but also will my alarm still work without the light?  Cos im thinking the alarm is triggered by light and door opening right?  
All help would be grateful cos i wont be able to sleep tonight if the alarms not working.

I would imagine (but I don't know for sure) that the alarm is triggered by motion sensors inside the car, else surely the crims would just smash a window and jump in for a free reign of the car...

So yes your alarm should be fine... As for interior light, I've absolutely no suggestions...

Thanx mate, im away for the weekend and worried if it aint alarmed..
I know on my mk3 i had there was a button on the door for the light, cant find one on this for love nor money?

May be a daft suggestion but there could be something in the manual? That said I could be completely wrong but I need to look in mine later to see if I can figure out how to turn off the damn tp function on the radio so I'll have a look then.

just a thought , but the door/boot switches do go faulty on the mk4 (mine has...boot and drivers door)

continuing from Welshgar - the reason that you cannot find the door switchs is because they are microswitches built into the door locks, so unfortunatly if your switch is fu@ked then you need a new lock :angry:.  Not heard of the light not going off before tho, ussually it wont come on :undecided:

Find someone with VAG COM,  they should be able to help

Thanx a lot everyone, i'll get the gararge to look at it for me on wednesday cos i need a new battery anyway, and i dont think he'll charge to look.  Hope its not a new lock i need :huh:

I have noticed the back wiper washer not working properly too, so thanx for the link too cos thats listed. 
Might have a look at that today.
