Ive had my car for sale for a while now, i just cant shift it! As the ad says it's just not practicle for me anymore. Parkers says its worth £4500 easy, its by no means in poor condition, just mileage which on a vw engine isn't that bad.
What you think, am i being realistic to expect £4500?

I just bought a 99 2.0 gti with 56k for 4450 so i would say your about right considering mileage. How come the engine was recon? I wouldnt put it on ebay, autotrader would get a lot more notice for your price as there is a lot less risk and only 15.99 for two weeks coverage.

Quick look on Autotrader brought up at least 3 different 99 1.8Ts with 100k plus miles for about £3900 - 3999 so I think you should stick it on there mate. You could ask 3,800 accept 3.500 and undercut them

I bought my 99S reg Turbo a month or so ago for £3950 off autotrader and that had 84k on the clock. I would of offered you £4k for your car if it was for sale when I bought mine :(
Good luck selling it, there are loads of these cars for sale as I watched out for weeks when I was buying mine. It doesn't help the car market is silly low right now :(

is that a crack in your frong grill or the front bumper on one of those pics? how was that caused. Doesnt look like a bad moter bu i think 4500 is askin too much. 3 and a half and you may sell it. a car of that age with a reconned engine etc would put me off it, unless the price was right.

Thats what im starting to think, the bumper was traffic jam bump. Its nothing, if the buyer was that bothered a new bumper would cost £50-£100 which i felt was reflected in the price.
£4500 is only the buy it now price i would prob accept £4000!
