Title: mk4 center radio cage

is it true that if you currnetly have black trims in your car that means u have the solid cage and to install the new trims, such as alluminkum, carbon wood u need to buy one of these different cages such as this ????

Not sure but at £53 it may well be worth a chat with VW. Might do better to buy from them!

im sure ive read somewhere before that if you have the black trim you do need to replace the cage to fit the wood or alu trim

They are different cages mate for the wood/alu trim. what you need is part number 1J1 858 069D that is the part number for the cage with trim inserts :wink:

GAZ B  ure right mate i rang stealership they said £44 for dash inserts cage so i rang my corrupted vw parts man he says he will get it for 30 all in sorted
