Right , ive managed to get the spliced bit off with some hard work.
however the hub doesnt seem to go far enough back to then get the bolt on the hold it in place...
Pjones the guy up who sold it to me and he contacted the makers and they've got no registered problems with it.
My car is now impossible to drive....
-
but a mk3 steering wheel would fit on?
I could see if i can get hold of one.
-
get an early pre 89 steering wheel as a stop gap until you get it sorted. at least that way you can drive it about
-
the scrappy i went to this morning had a 88 Gti.
May take a trip back there
-

Car looks like she's in very good condition!
-

-
My door and rear panel came into contact with a concrete post in a car park last night!

-
WTF how did you do that? was it your new steering wheel?????
-
don't think the steering wheel caused it. Just lack of judgement and looking. My fault.
Gonna cost a bomb to fix, although i may just buy a Gti when my insurance is up for renewal.
