Just bought my Mk4 2.0 Gti and was made up - problem is the gearbox !
When I was driven around by the garage chap I didn't notice any issues and so paid up and drove away.
Over the past few days I'm starting to worry about the gearbox. Alls well until I engage 5th gear and a low rumble / droning noise begins. It sounds like I've engaged gear at too slow a speed but the noise is there when I'm doing any speed until about 65mph and the gear stick vibrates like mad - after 65 the noise and vibration disappears !
I'm guessing this can't be normal but what do I do about it and how much is it likely to cost to put right.
Any ideas anyone ?
(Also had the usual problem with my dash lighting up like the sunset strip what with the lambda sensor, air flow conundrum but thats another story)
