if i take the rotor arm off will i be able to remove the dust shield to get at the hall sender?
my rotor arm is glue on so im gonna have to break it off, i dont wanna break it off to find i still cant get the dust shield off
anybody no for sure on a 16v?
Cheers,
Craig

Not sure, but isn't it worth just changing the rotor arm anyway? they are only a few quid. You will not be able to re-use it as you will have to break it off.
-
yeah i know, ive ordered one anyhow seeing as they are cheap as chips. but i'll throw a wobbler if i break it off and the dust shield still dont budge.
-
I'm pretty sure you will need to remove the arm if you want to get the dust shield off.
-
If its the same as they 8V then you will need to remove the rotor arm. It should then simply lift off.
-
good stuff
ill give it a go whenever its back from getting its barstwearding power steering rack fitted
new ISV, rotor arm & hall sender all waiting to go on, so if it still plays up after this, its getting burnt
-
The dust sheild is removable.
Park it in a peugeot dealers before you torch it, at least then its for a good cause.
-
Make sure you got a BIG can of petrol inside :D
-
Shame its not still bonfire night, you could have sold tickets.
-
I'd buy a ticket :-*

Sorry gambit i did say i would look at mine to see if it comes off but my wife has just had a baby and i dont get any spare time any more.
-
The rotor arm is glued on at factory, so it depends if the original is still fitted.
-
no probs lee
aye this one is defo glued on, ill just have to crunch it with the pliers!
-
should lift right off mate. Mine fell out the last time I changed the cap and rotor. Just snaps in place.
-
Thats because no-one bothers to glue a replacement on after the factory one is broken off.
-
Can't figure out why VW would glue it on there. Is it to sell special rotor arm glue? seriously where is it going to go. never took off a cap and said oh sh!te where did that thing go? lol.
-
They glued at factory, its not necessary to do it really.
-
All replacement rotor arms are interference fit and so dont need to be glued.
