Post by: forzanerazzurri on 25 November 2003, 07:14
i take good care of my GTI and just got the oil changed maybe a month back,  the level is fine,  but when i do about 90 MPH even for as little as 3 mins on the motorway my oil light comes on,  my oil light has beenreliable in the past and never come on unnecessarily BUT started to come on recently at 90

there must be something partially blocking the oil lift in the sump

it allows enough oil thru at low revs but there is'nt enough getting thru at constant high rpm's

only thing to do is drain it, take the sump of and clean it all out

Faulty oil pressure switch possibly.
