Title: Alarm beep
Post by: ryushi on 22 March 2006, 13:57
Is there an easy way to stop the alarm beeping when it is armed/unarmed?

Or do I need a VAGCOM?

Ta,

Paul.

No beep on mine, & no beep required, thanks!

Tell you what I do want, though, is that stupid one door unlocking thing switched off.  Think that's VAG-COM too, though.

Unless you get access to VAG-COM, then you'll just have to keep double pressing the fob for passengers.

It wouldn't be that bad, but not every 'double press' works.  You can need 3 or 4 attempts, sometimes.

My mrs just stands there with a look of disgust, as if I'm keeping her out in the cold on purpose!

I also have a Discovery which has the same arrangement so I am used to it - still don't care for it though.

3 times and the windows open?!?!!?!  :undecided: not on mine it dont  if you put the key in and unlock the car and hold the key in the unlock position then all the windows open same if you lock the car with the key and hold it there the windows close, my fob wont operate the windows, need to mess round with vagcom for that  :undecided:

and you will need additiional wiring in the car too, the kit is about £100 and then the windows will open/close or vent, so will the sunroof

My wife gives me that look as well so funny but I quite fancy a beep though never know whether I've locked it or not especially when its parked near a noisy road and you do the over the shoulder shot with the fob.

Yeah, the best ones are when you've thought you've opened them both, climb in, put your seatbelt on etc, & then you get a slow, but hard tap on the passenger window!

I just go by the indicators.....

One flash - Alarm on, doors locked
Two flashes - Alarm off, doors unlocked
