Right, that's it i've just been blown away by a friends 51 plate civic type r! now that is a racer, i knew it would beat me nearly 200bhp but it beat me by quite a lot, and it sounds effing quick! where our's/mine hav a change of gear at 6500rpm the civic just keeps going an rips it apart, up to 8500-9000rpm it doesnt get started till 6000rpm!
i no im not gonna put it in for a new chip ?500 then all of the sudden i'm drivin a rally car but i wouldn't like it to be 180bhp, is that to much to ask?
i've decided i want to but a chip, i found another site wiv lots of good info an expert advice, an it sounds like for bout ?300 - ?500 i could expect 30bhp just wandered what advice any of you guys could give about types and places to get it done, i'm an essex boy so somewhere good in essex!
any advice an experinace would be very very welcome 8)

try the revoteknic link on the links page and it will source you a local dealer, they dont do chips bt re-map your ecu, this will cost about ?500 but there gains on the 1.8t are good, upto about 212bhp i believe, they also to a demo mode, enter there program into your car(15 mins) then put a timer in the program(6hrs) so after 6hrs your car goes back to normal 150bhp running, but youll be hooked so youll go and get the program agin without the timer for ?500 easy sales pitch!!, shame someone hasnt relized how to extract the 6hr timer from there demo program yet!! then it would be 212bhp for free!!! 8)

hi i went down the revo road with my 150 bhp golf.It has changed the car in every way, it now pulls much harder through all the gears. And its not even giving full power yet. I took it to a rolling road and it was not boosting properly, it is only putting out 180 bhp so the revo man is going to look at it for me he thinks it may be the mass air flow meter. But even though it only has the same power as a newer 180bhp golf it still leaves my mates for dead..I did a 0-60 time just useing my speedo and a stopwatch and it was about 7.1 secs and standerd is 8.5..

i really like the re-mapped idea 212bhp sounds enough to sh!t my mates up! an bloody good for ?500! the only thing that puts me off to much of a gain is that i didn't want to hav to spend lots on new clutches an box's or whatever i would need to be able to cope wiv over 200 hors :oes!

www.jabbasport.co.uk claim power increases from 150bhp to 192-230bhp from a chip (depending on weather its a throttle cable model,drive-by-wire or drive-by-wire vvt).
they also do turbo kits with potential of 350bhp and 290lb/ft!!! :o
