Title: Update on my new MK3
Post by: Bronze MK1 Cab on 20 March 2006, 22:26
Picked up my MK3 on Saturday and parted with my £1000.

Was quite happy with it, but had a few problems that have now all been sorted thanks to GazB.

The power steering belt was slipping and making one hell of a noise and it was running rough as sandpaper

Went up to see Gaz and he sorted it all out for me  Managed to adjust the belt even though the adjuster was knackered and then we sprayed some belt gripping stuff on it. Will keep me going for now, but will need a new belt and adjuster.

Then we changed all the HT leads, plugs, rota arm, put injector cleaning in the tank and changed the dizze cap.

No wonder it was running like a piece of sh1t as there was a massive hole in the dizze cap  All sorted now and it's running great, more mpg and more power too

Just worried about the oil around the gear box now, will need get that checked out asap  :undecided:

So a big thank you to GazB for sorting it all out for me, he's worldy and at 6'8" he's very handy to have as a mate

Yeah you're right! Couldn't drive it with the noise the belt was making, felt like a right g1mp driving into the petrol station on the weekend, everyone was looking at me and I could tell they must have all been thinking shut that piece of sh1t up

er yeah, still haven't got around to that yet Robin  :undecided: Gaz was gonna take some on the weekend, but we were too busy sorting out the problems. Funniest moment must have been when Gaz dropped the socket on his eye

Another quality moment was on the way back from Halfords. stopped to get petrol and put the injector cleaner in. Goes to start car and it just wouldn't start  Had Gaz and his mrs in the car and I'm thinking did I put unleaded in?? Managed to start it after about 10 mins, that was all before we changed all the stuff on it
