I remember snapping a set of mole grips on mine before someone suggested heating it up with a welding torch... Worked a treat....

get a copper hammer and beat the hell out of the hub. so on the part that houses the track rod end. it should pop out that way.

A welding torch will also nicely cook the nylon bearing rendering it useless.

Does your car now wander all over the road??

Usually just put the nut back on enough to protect the thread, a few smart taps around the housing and one on the nut and it should pop out.

It depends!
If you have PAS both sides screw off, if you don't from the factory only the driver side is threaded on, the passenger side is fixed so you'll need a complete track rod.  Though this doesn't mean it hasn't been done in the past so have a look!

The way it works is the end threads onto the track rod, then is locked in place with a locking nut.

if ya look closely, the locking nut is the slightly different coloured bit to the left right up against the threads with a flat on it, the rod end has its own flats near the rounded end :)

try undoing the rack mounting UJs and slide it across a bit, might be able to get more clearance that way?
