ok so i reeeaally know nothing about car audio etc! but i have just recently got a new sony stereo for my mk2 and it has dab on it but unfortunatly the dab aerial got damaged during instalation... :undecided:(nuff said!) but that isn't my problem today, (i have a beesting aerial) and lately i haven't been able to get any fm radio stations to tune in..... i know the aerials are commonly crap on mk2's but i spend 3hrs plus commuting in my car every day and i need to have the traffic reports etc and my boredom eased!!!!
is there anything i can do to improve the reception??? or is it hopeless!!!
(p.s. i know i could just replace the dab aerial and use that but i also live out in the sticks and we don't get dab in alot of areas...)

you might laugh at this, but try connecting just the 'tip' of the aerial lead into your headunit. I did that on my mk2 and it worked better than ever... If the 'ground' was connected I got virtually no reception....
And Blaupunkt do a combined DAB and FM amplified aerial for £100ish...

you can also try a aerial booster.
I've found the roof mounter beasting the best aerial I've ever had. I can pickup Bristol FM from cardiff!
