Title: 8v newbie
Post by: Davies on 16 March 2006, 22:17
Hello i've just bought myself a gti 8v and i thought it was perfect but on a longish journey through traffic it has developed a noise. I think its comming from the drivers front wheel. It makes a very loud squeeling noice when braking slowly but also a squeeling as if in tune with the wheel rotations (at about 10mph-20mph then goes away) . I had the brakes pads and discs done recently so could it be realted. Has anyone got any ideas what it could be or what i can try?
Thank you for any help

Hmm, this is a difficult one to diagnose over the web TBH  :undecided: But it could be a peice of grit caught in your caliper or in the heat shield behind your disc. I think you need to get the wheel off and have a good look TBH mate.
