Hey RIPP3Y how are you doing ? Of course I'm still here, part of the furniture me ! I was going to ask if you ever put that hood on so you answered my question. Get it sold anyway you'll get your money back on it, if not more.
As for the buying advice, look in the mk1 maintenance section and there are a couple of guides, but if you're feeling lazy then look at this thread, http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=18122.0 there's a PDF file at the bottom about buying a cab and it's a really good guide.

hi again, i got the car earlier today, well happy :smug:
it did vibrate a bit at speeds of around 60- 80mph but not that concerned about it. Not as concerned as i was when the car started to spluter and jump on the way home!!!! only to find that i`d totaly misjuged the petrol gauge, i thought there was plenty in the tank when it hit the red, just about made the pump lol. I didnt see that mentioned in things to look out for, lol.
Anyhow, it is a nice car, although it needs touching up here and there. mind that helped to adjust the price on the car (£1500 for a J plate cant be bad).
Gibb`s, do you think i should place an add for the roof on this site or e-bay? nice to here from you m8.

Good to see you about again, J reg cabby for £1500 sounds like a bargain to me. For the vibration's at high speed I'd get the wheels checked first to see if they are balanced correctly, that'll be about £20 tops to check out.
For the hood, whack it on here and e-bay and see how you get on.
