Post by: Dinky on 14 March 2006, 22:02: south African citis started in mid eighties they had them the same year as what UK did though just not badged as citis, they thought leary paintschemes would solve marketing problems :smiley: . started with same horrible oil leaking lumps as what as were in our Mk1's then progressed to Mk2 stuff.
the earlier sports are good cars, plenty of grunt (104 bhp, 115 bhp) with old gts gearbox (screamer), they all come with 'big block' Mk2 servo and master cylinder. suspension is sealed and factory fitted (and really replaced) so need burning gear to get it off :wink:
all the carb engines use 'big block' mounts (bored) and manual choke, most manual choke, progressive feed. Mk2 hydraulic tappet engine in a Mk1. the brakes are Mk2 servo and master cylinder and Mk1 'big block' calipers. the heftier specs come with ARB on rear axle (some a compensator (aye cos it does a lot)). they seem to slip on getting into this country on foglights like :undecided:Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â bummer :smiley:
