Title: BUYING GUIDE / COMMON FAULTS

have noticed recently a lot of people asking about what MKIV they should get and i was wondering if we could put together some sort of buying guide, listing things to look out for etc, common problems.

not me mate - only had my MKIV a month  :wink: :rolleyes: been victim to one fault already mind lol

don't mind having a go if people think it will be of use  :smiley:

Hi

This forum has a lot of info about common problems on the MK4. In particular all my mates who have the MK4 GTI have had one of these common issues:

1. Replacement of clutch Kit < 60000km
2. Falling windows
3. Replacement of water pump < 70000km
