want to get car lowered and want to get more than just shorter springs, found a goy on ebay selling the gmax kit for my mk3 gti for £189.99.
has anybody got any experience or other suggestions?
-
Yeah, i fitted a kit on a mk3 16v and it was surprisingly good.
-
sounds promising how much did you drop it by?
-
25mm
-
I had a gmax kit on my old rover gti andit was like being smashed in the teeth and spine with a lump hammer.
-
How much did you lower it by?
-
i had one on my first mk2 and it was ok actually... was firm but it handled lovely
-
How much did you lower it by?
only 40mm. even on uneven surfaces it was harsh to say the least. last time i bought cheap.
-
From experience i have found a few kits seem to be a harsh ride if dropped more than 25mm, unless you pay alot of money.
-
A ROVER! anyway the kit im looking at suggests a 20mm drop, and i can pick it up for 160 with £20 delivery from ebay, sounds ok to me?
-
Yeah sounds the same as the one i fitted, go for it

go for the F k kit on egay, think it's only £138 + postage of £15. i had a set and they were good for the money. Look for the seller from Germany 'goingfast '
They are 60/40 drop.

been gettiing mixd messages was advised by local fitting centre not to touch gmax! been looking at bigboystoys and getting a koni kit fitted, drop would be 40mm, ive got 17's with 205-40-17 tyres, am i going to slam wheels into the arches to much?
-
from what other people have done i'd imagine that would be ok. you may get a bit of rubbing with a fully loaded car but hey. If you're going for koni struts i'd suggest -30mm eibach springs tho. It seems to be the popular chioce and a good compromise between looks and ride quality.
