Post by: soulman_uk on 03 March 2006, 16:27
1.6s golf 2001

I was wondering how you remove the engine cover, I've never seen what my lump looks like would be nice.

Also I was wondering why I have an engine cover ? does is help prevent noise or ....... ?

cheers

Gently pry off the the 3 caps, undo the three 10mm nuts, remove dipstick and carefully lift the cover off.

The top cover may help to suppress noise a little but I think its more for aesthetics.

They do look pretty good with out the covers as there is just to much plastic in these modern cars.
