Title: Clutch goosed???
Post by: ronnie'C' on 02 March 2006, 21:04

In the summer of last year I fitted a nedw clutch plate as it was slipping when I was pulling off from rest. Over the last few months I have started to struggle to engage 1st and second gear and more recently, its started to crunch in reverse and sometimes when goingt into 3rd.

Has anyone had similar problems or can anyone help me out please. Many thanks

Ronnie

Check the clutch adjustment, the pedal should be about the same level as the brake.

This sounds like your gear linkage needs adjusting as if the linkage is out by a little bit - your have alot of issues with getting all gears and reverse will be issue.

Cheers all, going to have a play with it today and new bushes are on demand.

It could be your engine mounts. If these are worn or broken, the slight shift could have an effect on the gear selection link arms. I had first gear problems and was convinced it was the 'box or clutch. Turns out it was the much-cheaper-to-repair engine mounts.

Good luck.
