Hi Guys,
I'm well excited :laugh: after a few days of hard work and waiting for my insurance certificate to come through so I can get tax on my baby I get to drive her!! My fella is going to get the tax for me then bring her up at lunchtime so i can drive her!
Never driven a golf before, but i'm sooooo excited!!! she is gonna be my baby and i'm gonna make her well pretty as she has been stood for over a year but I have given her a wash and a polish so she is looking better than she was.
Can you tell I'm excited?!?! :laugh:

wow what a ride! not what I am used to I can tell you that. I've gone from a y reg 1.1 peugeot 106 to a f reg 1.8 golf gti.
She is a little rough round the edges but she hasn't moved properly in over a year, think she just needs to loosen up.
I felt well old skool in it. was quality!
think she needs lowering, a nice beefy exhaust, those big bumpers and a bit of love and a kick ass stereo system and she'll be perfect for me.
I will post pics of her over the weekend when I get access to my mom camera! I'll give her a nice good polish too!

They are good standard, but just wait til you modify it!

Keep it old skool.
IMHO, anything older than G reg looks better with small bumpers. For some reason, big bumpers don't look right with F,E,C,B or A reg plates, but somehow D reg looks ok with big bumpers (eg Dizzie's 20VT Mk2).
What colour is it?
Personally, I'd put some nice old skool rims on it, lower about 60mm, keep the small bumpers. Then play with the engine. :grin:

id say exactly the same. if its oldskool you like then you cant beat small bumpers , a good drop and some small deep wheels. get yourself onto dubmodder.com and have a play around yourself. heres what i came up with on there. Its a great site for passin time and gettin good ideas.

Before reading anyone else's replies I was also thinking keep the small bumpers. Nice wheels and lowered and they can look so good. :cool:

its that graphite grey colour with 5 doors!
i'm loving the car at the moment cant wait to start me tweeking. the accelarator pedal is a bit stiff but other than that its sound.
had a funny experience this morning though. went to de-ice my car and it was frozen on the inside too!!! i think that was because its a little damp for sitting around for a year!

just tried to get on to dubmodder to make you a 5door grey mk2but its temp offline coz the servers bein updated. bugger. Once its back on il giv it a go. id still stick with small bumpers tho, and probably chrome trim, handles etc.
