Title: Windscreen 'crackling' noise
Post by: gib6107 on 28 February 2006, 15:19
(2003 Golf Mk4 GTI 1.8T (150) 20K miles) - I was on the motorway the other day and suddenly the windscreen started making a noise as if it was chucking it down with rain. I would have put the wipers on had I not realised that it was actually sunny!

Has anyone else had this??

Nope. Have never experienced this in any of my previous cars. Never heard of this happening, either.  :undecided:

same happens to mine, always assumed it was just the glass expanding, doesnt have room to move since it's bonded in.

it might make the noise more if you have the heaters on it and its cold outside.
