i think they are called coilovers or something :nerd: anyway, which make would be the best to buy? i have heard of fk coilovers and koni adjustable.are these makes any good.the reason why i'm asking is that i'm putting another set of splitties on the sportline but slighty wider and i'm looking for that fatter look all round.

FK Konigsports.

Basicly you get what you pay for when it comes to coil overs. KONI tend to be the best but are also the more expensive option. FK do a wide range, starting with budget and moving up. To be honest if i was gonna buy again i would go with the top of the range FK's as they are basicly KONI's but cheaper.

£499  oh well, suppose i'll have to dig into the piggy bank again.this car modding lark can be quite expensive.£600 bbs splitties and £499 for the coilovers and i haven't even finished yet

You could get a cheap set but you would end up disapointed. They tend to be very harsh have little or no adjustment and rot very quickly. Yes modding is never cheap, unless you buy tat and stick it on your car with superglue. I saw the best chav mod the other day. Some old chav racer in his granada scorpio had screwed door runners accross his back bumper! Yes door runners, the bits that divide your capets at the bottom of your door. I just had to laugh and point! even though he was stood a few meters away. Bling bling! lol

another thumbs up for konigsports  basically konis but cheaper :nerd:
actually if your not bothered about damper adjustment get the highsports, they are supposed to be a bit comfier than the konigsports on softest
-
damper ajustment? :embarassed: all i'm looking for is to lower the car to within a cat's whisker of the tyre but making sure there's no rubbing.from what i hear there are so many ways of doing this but i don't want to go forking out on differant sets of springs and find they are not what i want.that's why i'd rather go for adjustables so i can work out what i think is the right height.what are highsports?
-
i'd say go for kw variant 2 overs as they are superb, fk are ok to highsports are the non adjusable damping versions. they ride ok and build quality is good.

Go for a spax VSX kit or similar
Lowered springs and uprated dampers will drop the car a fixed amount say 40mm no fuss no bother about £250 or about £350 if you go for the PSX kit which is adjustable for damping so you can set how hard or soft you want the ride ( can recommend these, had some very good )
Venommotorsport.com or similar have a good range
Coilovers like the guys are saying about are stiffer and far more adjustable in terms of height and damping etc but are very expensive
Not worth the money for someone who just wants there car a little bit lower

it depends on the ride quality you want too, coilovers are far superior to struts/springs over rough stuff. they just feel so much more controlled. even though my coilovers are stiffer than my old koni setup the ride quality is a lot better. if i were you id get fk highsports, venom do a good online price
