When I had to replace the balipers on my MR2 I used these people; http://www.brakesint.co.uk/

I found them excellant for factory replacements and very cheap. I'm not sure if they do vented/grooved style black diamond stuff but its a start if you decide to replace them straight out.

Only worth uprating fronts, IMO, no need for rears.

Have a look here..... www.buypartsbuy.co.uk

Mine need replacing soon and i have been looking around for some uprated ones for my 2.0 GTI, 2003.

I've looked at the Black Diamond Combi Discs which are Drilled and Grooved and the Black Diamond Fast Road Predator Pads.

I found them on: www.europerformance.co.uk

Best pads I've used by miles, (for track days & road), are the Ferodo DS2500's. Unbelievable bite..... They even worked well from cold (even better than standard pads). Sit down for the price!

If you don't want some as hardcore as that, then try the DS2000's (just called DS's now, IIRC).

Alot of people on the GTi-6 forum (who do lots of track days) have been a bit disapointed with that Black Diamond set-up (& also EBC stuff).

Also bare in mind, that drilled/grooved discs will wear your pads out quicker than solid discs.

I got some Brembo grooved discs a while back from German Swedish.  Also got some ebc "green stuff"pads from there too - quick delivery and not a bad price either.

I'm pretty pleased with this set-up.

Put standard pads and discs on all round last year for under £200 for the lot from German and Swedish and fitted it all myself. Brakes are very good, good enough to get the ABS working on any road surface and have never had brake fade. Drilled/slotted discs cause noise and more pad wear than standard discs. Drilled/slotted discs look better but have no performance gains over standard discs/pads on the road.
I think it all depends on how deep your willing to dig into your pocket for your new brakes.
Happy hunting!
