Title: 'Service - OIL' Gti turbo read out

I guess this going to be straight forward but to make sure i'm not going mad here;

I have this message popping up on my speedside computer read out when I start the car and goes away after 5 mins. I have checked the oil and all is fine (not to much not to little).

The car is due a service in a few hundred miles and I figure VW program this to pop up when the car is closing in on the next service.

If it isn't this it's in need of an oil change as the oil is a little black and could do with a change.

Am I right or wrong on either account?

Hi, This is the pre-programmed message to remind you to get it serviced. If it's due a service in a few hundred miles it appears to be doing it's job properly.

If there was a problem with too little oil, the oil light would come on independently of the service indicator.
