Title: MK 3 alarm cat1/2??

Hi guys , my insurance im pleased with at 300 notes fully comp however they are asking for proof of security of at least cat 2 . Can anyone comfirm what the standard golf alarm is ? i have the quantum joba with a big black squishy box on me keys  :smiley:

Sorry cant help with the alarm bit but whare did you get the insurance for £300 im 37 full comp and paying £400. :smiley:

hello matey im with direct line . im 24, 5 years no claims, parked on drive way if i remember right the full price was 318 for the year . thats with no protection on the NCB mind.

I'm not sure about the box but if you have an immob chip in your key then its cat 2. The later golfs had a chip in its key.

Yeah i know but was jut trying to find out first as if its not cat2 then i will have to get one fitted and if it is i will just go to VW

Mines a VW fitted Conlog total closure alarm. I told the insurance its cat 1 but im not to sure tbh. How do i find out?????
