hey all, my iso block has been cut apart and put back toghether but im a little concerned
i have a main thick red wire coming out of iso block, this has been connected to a thinnish brown/red wire
then there is a thinnish brown/red wire that is connected to thick red wire, how come these have been switched around?? if i put them red on to red etc it wont work??
any ideas??
-
isn't brown/red the ignition feed on some golfs?
anyway, can you take a photo of it?
-
Hmm, I'd just chop it out and wire in a new iso block. I generally connect the live and switched live from the radio to the permanent live from the car, so the radio doesnt switch off when the ignition is turned off. Always get annoyed when I'm listening to a song when I pull up and it goes when I turn the ignition off!
-
think ive done that on the radio wiring side of things
it just seems odd someone has chopped the two wires and swapped them over, just wondered if there would be a reason??
-
Ah I see what you're getting at now. It'll be permanent live and ignition swapped. On Golf's they're the wrong way round as standard. Not sure if that applies to the later ones...

mines a mk 2 so im guessing its now the right way round and i should just leave it alone then??
-
sounds right to me

ok its left alone
