whats the point, mk3's have heated washers anyway ......
:nerd:
-
So do mk2s, but its only to stop the jet freezing, doesnt actually heat up the water i dont think, so yea probably quite good in winter!! lol
-
Not all mk2's have heated jets. And the ones that do probably dont work anyway!

well if you use propper screenwash not water, it shouldn't freeze up, and the engine defrosts it in the bottle and pipes in no time, just can't see the point, Thats just my opinion thats all.... :undecided:

Its not going to work until the cars warmed up, by which time the heaters will have warmed the windscreen and the water gets warmed as soon as it hits the glass anyway :nerd:
i did a similar mod on my first mk1 by just wrapping a few turns of the tubing abound the top hose of my rad but never bothered on the next 3 as it didn't really make that much difference
i think if the wipers dont clear your screent then its time to wash the car :smug:
-
lol yea good point ppl, i didnt think of that, i thought it had its own sort of electric coil to heat it up!! So yea probably not such a good idea!! lol
-
Seems a little expensive for the purpose.
Like everyone else says, by the time it does its job the car will have warmed up and the windows defrosted themselves anyway!
Just do what I do, start the car 10mins before you plan to leave with the heaters on full blast. That usually does the job and probably costs a lot less!

Doesnt warm water freeze over again anyway?. Plus i'd imagine going from -1c temeratures to +20c temperatures wouldnt be too healthy for your glass.
-
i dont see the point really unless we live in iceland
screen wash keeps the water running usually
