Title: Can anyone shed some LIGHT on this little problem
Post by: Burnsy on 19 November 2003, 17:31
My drivers door lights not working when i open the door so thats causing ( i think) the warning sound for when you leave your lights on not to work.
Ive swapped the unit over with the passenger door and works fine so its not the bulb and unit.
Has anyone got any ideas please ?
Mk 4 1999 T 1.8 T

It is probably the courtesy light switch on the door, which tells everything else that the door is open. Unfortunately the switch is an integral part of the door lock mechanism, and cannot be replaced independently.  :(
