Title: pioneer DEH 5500 problems
Post by: R1D3R on 18 November 2003, 20:06

been trying to hook this upto my mk2 golf. im changing from the original tape head unit to this cd head unit.

The conectors all fit but the problem is the wires in the plastic connectors arnt in the right place to join to the correct wire in the other plastic connector!

i tried to pull em out and move em to a different slot in the plastic but i couldnt get them out. In the haynes max power book it shows that they had to strip it all and manualy join the wires.

i dont really wanna botch job it. anyone know if i can buy adaptors or what to do so that i dont have to get the wire cutters and duck tape out.

cheers.

I think autoleads make an adapter cos i had this with a pioneer headunit. you should be able to get one in an ICE shop for a tenner or so
