Title: Ummmm slight prob
Post by: Len on 13 February 2006, 20:09
Driving to work this morning I found my trottle sticking. Now thats a bad way to describe it coz it wasnt mechanical, the cable and linkages seem fine coz I dipped the clutch and was able to rev normally but it wouldnt go down below 2000 rpm. It hovered there with the rev counter moving up and down by itself! I had to go on like this using the gears to suit road speed for about 5 miles.
I was then able to give it a bit of a blast along a stretch of dual carriage way.

Its been fine since, drove from Oxford to High Wycombe and back then home from Oxford etc.

Any ideas folks? Could this be an indicator to something like one of the common faults like a throttle body clean?

Nah water level fine and oil.

Was about 15 miles into journey and engine was well warm.

It hasnt done it since so not gonna worry about it for now, maybe chuck some injection cleaner in, but thats probably all for now. Its nearly due for a service so will see if some new plugs etc help!

I Know! Still cant do that and I keep trying! Must be in my subconcious to be in the correct gear for a corner so I just dont think about it!
