Title: Fault Code

Hi everyone, does anyone know what this fault code means?

Bank1-Probe1 No Activity (5 digit VAG Code 16518)

I've got a 1999 1.8 20V non-turbo

No1 Lambada Sensor is fooked mate :angry:

16555 System too lean - Bank 1
17536 Long Term Fuel Trim - Bank 1 - System too lean
16518 Heated Oxygen Sensor Inoperative - Bank 1

Bank 1 Lambada Sensor  - £102 Inc VAT

Cheers mate, thanks for the help.

Is this something that can be changed myself or is it a garage job?
What symtoms should a fooked Lambada sensor show? The reason i ask is my car's been showing symptoms of a dodgy MAF, which i was just about to change, although no MAF fault codes showed up. It did show a fault on the camshaft position sensor and this Lamba sensor. Could this cause similar syptoms as a dodgy MAF?

Your lambda could show up the same symptoms of a dodgy maf, yeah :cry:

You could prob change it yourself, but it would be a damn site easier on the ramp

I haven't tried this myself, but I have heard that if you disconnect the MAF and the car runs a lot better then it is the MAF at fault.
I was also warned not to run the car too long in this state, just use the procedure to test it.

The only way you can test the MAF with VAGCOM is by taking the car out and driving it. I have read a test procedure for it somewhere.

Cheers for the help guys, i'll change the dodgy sensors first then see about the MAF - lets face it, i'm gonna need one sooner or later!

Rich King - that is the item i need but it's for 1.8T - mine's the non-turbo so i suspect it will be a different part but i'll double check, could save me some cash (whcih i'll probably then spend on a new MAF!)
