Title: remote c/l problem

my 97 8v gti has a very annoying problem with the remote ,sometimes when the alarm is activated the indicator lights flash 3 times and the drivers side lights stay on and you then have to then unlock and do again until it works.anyone else had this problem,I'm sure its an original alarm that is fitted as standard.

standard vw alarms (scopian) can be problematic. havnt had that but had the doors nor open when they should :sad:

actually, my brother has an 8V MK3 which used to give problems with the c/l also - he replaced the battery...as it was likely in since day one..and it seemed to have sorted the problem with his car..probably the system was getting the proper voltages from the old battery in order to operate properly...something to consider I suppose if your battery is > 5 yrs old. I dont know what make the alarm/ c/s system was on his car though..
